WARRANTY

It is our goal to provide you with products of the utmost quality and craftsmanship, however we do realize that nothing is ever perfect. Working with a dynamic material such as wood, presents unique challenges that could cause significant issues if not managed appropriately from the beginning. We choose rough sawn lumber that is straight, void of defects (unless it’s used as a specific accent in the final product) and dry*, and further process that material into Boards & Blocks of various sizes that are used in the final product.

If you purchase a cutting board, charcuterie board, or butcher block from us, and you experience excessive warping or deformation that results in an unstable surface, or separation of mechanically bonded surfaces, throughout the life of normal use, we will repair or replace, at our discretion, your board with one of equal value at no cost to you. All we ask is that you cover the cost and package and ship it back to us.

Examples of defects and issues, that are not covered by this warranty include but are not limited to: discoloration, fading or bleaching; erosion of surface material over time; damage due to exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity; and, damage caused by improper use of the product. A wood product should not be washed in the dishwasher, and doing so will void this warranty.**

*Dry - Wood, which comes from trees, that grow, in part, by taking in water from the ground through roots, is by nature, wet. Often, wood freshly milled, and not yet dried, either naturally or by the process of dehydrating it in a kiln, is called “green”, and is not recommended for use in a final product that is expected to be stable throughout the life of that product. Generally, “dry” or “stable” wood is considered acceptable for woodworking within the range of 6% - 8% moisture content (for more information on how humidity and moisture effect wood, Google “acceptable moisture content for wood”, or read the article by Wagner Meters by copying and pasting the following link into your browser search bar… https://www.wagnermeters.com/moisture-meters/wood-info/acceptable-moisture-levels-wood/).

**Don’t put our product in the dishwasher, and then try to tell us that you didn’t. We can tell. Hand wash your board in the sink using a warm, damp cloth to clean the surface of the board and let air dry on your counter before storing the board for future use. Occasionally, at least once a month (maybe more often depending on the level of humidity inside your home), you should apply an even coat of food safe mineral oil to all sides of your board. Allow the mineral oil to soak in, wiping off any remaining excess after 2-3 hours. Seal the board with our Boards & Blocks Board Butter to prevent your board from drying out. DO NOT USE ANY TYPE OF COOKING OIL TO TREAT YOUR BOARDS. We treat our board by first applying a liberal amount of food safe mineral oil, until the board will no longer soak anymore in, allow it to drip dry, hand buff, apply our Boards & Blocks Board Butter, a mixture of food safe mineral oil and organic beeswax, to seal the surface and buff once more before packaging.
